1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using LunchPrep (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, please uninstall the App and stop using it immediately. Continued use of the App after we publish a change to these terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We recommend checking this page periodically so you are aware of any changes.

2. What LunchPrep Is

LunchPrep is a meal-planning assistant that helps parents choose, prepare, and pack school lunches based on what is in their pantry and each child's dietary safety profile. The App provides suggestions, tracks ingredients, and organises grocery lists. It is not a substitute for medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. You must always verify ingredients and allergen information yourself, especially when a child has a life-threatening allergy.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By using the App you represent that you are an adult who has parental or legal guardian responsibility for any child whose profile you manage in the App. The App is not designed for direct use by children under 13. If you allow a minor to use your device, you are responsible for their interactions with the App and any data entered on their behalf.

4. Account & Security

If you choose to create an account, you are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@lunchprep.app if you suspect any unauthorised use. You may use the App in anonymous mode without an account, but data will be stored only on your device and will be lost if the App is deleted. We cannot recover data that was never synced to our servers.

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of any recipes, photos, pantry entries, and other content you create or upload in the App ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process it solely to provide the App's features to you. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not use it to train machine-learning models or share it with third parties outside the scope described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Health & Safety Disclaimer

LunchPrep helps you organise meal choices, but it does not guarantee that any meal is safe for any particular child. Allergen information is entered by you and is only as accurate as the data you provide. We are not liable for allergic reactions, dietary intolerances, or any health outcomes that result from meals planned using the App. Always read food labels and consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your child's specific dietary needs.

7. Subscription & Billing

LunchPrep offers an optional Pro subscription that unlocks additional features. All purchases and renewals are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store, not directly by us. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. To cancel, go to your device's subscription settings. We cannot issue refunds for charges processed by the platform stores; please contact Apple or Google for refund requests.

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the App. Prohibited activities include: scraping or harvesting data from the App; attempting to gain unauthorised access to our systems or another user's account; uploading malicious code or content; using the App to harass or harm any person; reselling or sublicensing the App or its content; and circumventing any technical measures we use to protect the App or its users. Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your account.

9. Intellectual Property

All software, design, text, graphics, recipes provided in the default library, and other content included in the App — other than Your Content — are owned by or licensed to LunchPrep and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-transferable licence to use the App on your personal device for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the App without our prior written permission.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you breach these terms or if we are required to do so by law. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Upon termination, your licence to use the App ends immediately. Provisions of these terms that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — will remain in effect.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of security vulnerabilities. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or related to your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you within the App and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of the revised terms constitutes your acceptance. If you do not agree to the revised terms, you must stop using the App and delete your account.

13. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the App shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, and both parties consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
